Today`s contribution will discuss how modern technologies improve the quality of the building industry and how they make life and work easier for people who work in this field. Whereas the building industry utilizes for the most part the traditional construction methods used for numerous years, the technologies and tools have been constantly evolving and bring various innovations supporting time and money saving. Finally, we get to the point when innovations appear not only in building itself but also within the features which our experts apply during preparing phases and realization of projects.
The symbol of the traditional structural engineering is one very important material, often marginalized by others: yes, we are talking about a regular sheet of paper. It is the paper that is the key means through which architects and investors bring their ideas from their minds into realizable project documentations and instructions for building companies. It shall not be necessary to explain the complex and time-consuming process of creating project documentation. In the modern times of 3D printers, laser scanners, and other devices, things change rapidly.
Such a professional 3D printer can generate a three-dimensional element of a building corresponding to certain scales and to promptly give the real impression of the particular element. Project modeling thus gets to a completely different level. That, however, is not the only advantage of 3D printers; today, building elements are being produced by means of these printers and in the near future their application in the entire constructing of buildings may be expected.
Special laser scanners are able to capture the condition of a construction and to reverse them into a new drawing within several minutes and thus to enable a new, better view on building under construction and the amount of work done.
There already exist very sophisticated applications helping to work with the minimum of paperwork; all is stored in computers and thus becomes instantly available. All drawings, documentation, and designs are created, sent and approved via these applications installed in computers of all parties to the particular project. All involved parties of the project then receive documentation almost immediately and may share comments and obesrvations, may send and edit them, because the application allows more options than common scanning of drawings with notes.
These applications fulfill a number of significant advantages:

- Flexibility and simplicity of mutual communication and sending of alterations
- Much more effective coordination between submitters, subcontractors and partners
- Another space for innovations and simplication of processes
In today`s world everything has been evolving rapidly and thus it becomes a matter of time before all these trends become a daily routine of most building companies.
