The implementation was completed in 2018
We have successfully completed the reconstruction of the KOKOS Kladno, with its history stretching back to the communist time when it had been established as an administrative object. After 1989, numerous businesses were placed there ranking from a post office to a pharmacy, a bourse, and to a restaurant. Some parts of the building ended up entirely deserted. The building was taken over by the Czech Technical University in Prague, and the building became the seat of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering. The Faculty thus houses its administrative offices, laboratories, lecture halls, or a canteen for its students and employees. In 2015, the outside of the building was reconstructed and the building obtained a new envelope. Now it was time for the interiors. The goal of the entire reconstruction was to unify the heterogenous interiors.
In the first phase of the works, the original tiles were removed in most parts. The tiles were in most places replaced with new repainted coatings. The individual floors are now differentiated by colors. Some of the crossbars were dismantled, which changed the interior layout of the building and increased some of the lecture halls or offices. The original elevator, which had previously gone only to the 5th floor and now serves all floors, was also replaced. The students thus can look forward to, for example, a new study department, as well as new laboratories. The works also involved the reconstruction of the sanitary facilities, the heating system, or the ventilation in the building.
