Municipal library in Šumperk

The implementation was completed in 2018

The building used as an educational institution from kindergarten to secondary school in the first half of the 20th century was reconstructed. At the request of the town of Šumperk, a new cultural and social center was established housing the municipal library, an Internet corner, a literary cafe operating in the regime of a sheltered workshop,  a small and a large multifunctional room for cultural and social events, and/or some communal space to be used by local associations as a clubroom or rehearsal room.

Apart from this, some of the spaces have now been serving as an educational center of the Technical University in Ostrava. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Bachelor Study Center in Šumperk will find a use for four lecture rooms, a room equipped with computing technology, and two offices for teachers.

We also adjusted the entrance where we had seen the necessity to establish a barrier-free access to the building. The entrance is now facilitated with a ramp access. Visitors may expect new parking places and bicycle parking racks. Readers will find a reading garden in the building wing.
