A Renaissance burgher house on Neumann Street (No. 142) in Prachatice has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958. That is why, during the reconstruction, we had to chooseespecially friendly and considerate approach. Our work had been linked to countless minor modifications and all the repairs the object had gone through during the centuries of its existence.
The main objective of the works of this monument was the creation of living spaces meeting the contemporary high standards while preserving the historical appearance of the entire building. This meant, among other things, removing of thealready outgoing water, sewage and heating systems, and their replacement with new ones. Besides, we have also extended the backdrop to the upper floors of the building and its attic for the hospice staff who are based in the neighboring building.
