The extension of the House for the Elderly in Břeclav – the kitchen

The implementation was completed in 2020

In the area of the Home with Nursing Care in Břeclav, we connected the main building being divided into wings with a new central kitchen and the necessary facilities. The extension is situated along the northern side of the complex and connects to the already standing buildings C and D.

Part of the extension has three floors. The rest of it only has two. The two-storey part has a hip roof from the visible sides, which is followed by a flat roof.

As the central kitchen is not only used for the needs of the inhabitants of the House but is also used, for example, by the city of Břeclav, Caritas CR, and other non-profit organizations, the building must also be prepared for serving and distribution. Therefore, an access ramp was created along the entire length of the extension on the level of the 2nd above-ground floor.

In the building itself, we have combined classic materials such as concrete, brick ,and ceramics with new modern composites in the form of metal and glass. The appearance of the extension is based on the shape of the land, the location, and appearance of the neighboring buildings, as well as the functional requirements for the new pavilion.

Except for the kitchen and storage rooms, the extension also houses economical and technical facilities as well as administrative rooms.
